What is the FS50? The FS50 is a standalone, compact, and robust optical two-finger flat & rolled fingerprint scanner. The FS50 is certified by the FBI as FIPS 201 compliant. 
Why do I need it? Deployed worldwide for both AFIS and other fingerprint systems, the FS50 is a high performance, field proven, reliable, and secure device. Its advanced optical system can capture a high quality 2 fingerprint images in less than 1.0 sec. It can also capture a single rolled fingerprint in a 1.6x1.5 inch (40.64x38.10mm) scanning area. With these capabilites, the FS50 can easily be used for generating high-quality templates for use with government criminial and identification systems all while at a lower cost than comparable fingerprint scanner systems. How does it work? The FS50 enrolls or authenticates users by scanning either one or two fingers or by rolling a single fingerprint across the scanning area. Who uses it? The FS50 is ideal for organizations that need a durable, easy to maintain, and powerful device to be used across a variety of large-scale biometric applications where a cost-effective, compact unit would be desirable. FEATURESGeneral The main purpose of the FS50 is to function in conjunction with various applications in order to restrict access to sensitive information of governments and corporations. The FS50 fingerprint scanner was designed for an office use, it is compact, cost-effective and can be deployed anywhere there is a USB connection. High Quality Optical Scanning Optical scanning is considered to be one of the most advanced identification (1:N) technology. It provides the highest quality and accuracy of identification regardless of the skin color and operates effectively with problematic fingers (dry or damaged skin, etc.). It also provides rapid capture of multiple fingerprints as in the case of the FS50. FBI Compliance Because of the FS50's ability to capture high quality images, it is compliant with the FBI's PIV-071006 IQS (Image Quality Specification) for Single Finger Readers and has been certified as GSA FIPS 201 compliant. Each FS50 also carries a unique serial number programmed into the USB device descriptor, making it easier to track down enrollments to a particular scanner. High Speed & Performance The combination of biometric fingerprint readers and applications provided by Bio-Metrica, provides one of the best performing systems with a very fast response time, accurate with very good performance ratios (low FAR / FRR / FTE, EER etc.) This performance is extremely important especially in government and Law Enforcement applications. Diversity of Interfaces For different types of applications, we offer few types of fingerprint scanners & embedded devices. These devices support USB and Ethernet interfaces, while mobile and special terminals and combined solutions use additional credentials - contact / contactless cards / and PIN codes
